BLACKBERRY DAYS WITH BERRY GOOD FRIENDS!!

Wonderful weekend with our great friends ... Paul Pierce, Cindy and Larry Jensen. We are in Greenville for the 4th of July celebration. Had a great time. Ate at a new restaraunt for us called ... "Oysters on the West Side". Of course no one actually got oysters, but it was GREAT seafood. Then we saw a great concert by the Army Ground Forces Band that was amazing! Then at the last note of the concert, the fire works started. They were great too!
We decided to go blackberry picking on Saturday at "The Happy Berry" farm. This is only a few miles from our house and I am very happy about that. I LOVE BLACKBERRIES!! This farm is amazing ... it's huge and they have the biggest berries I ever saw. This bucket weighed 17 1/2 pounds!
We were getting our system down for washing the berries and planning what to do with them all.
Larry and Bob dried them outside in the breeze and then put them in qt. size bags for freezing.
Except for this bunch ... we made a blackberry pie! OH MY MY!!! It was soooooo good with vanilla ice cream! So of course, since I have frozen berries we can keep the pies coming for awhile.
